About Glenna...

Glenna Clouse has had over 30 years of experience working with children with special needs.  After earning a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Washington, she  worked for the Mukilteo School District as an elementary school counselor, a school psychologist, a special education teacher and an autism specialist.  Her passion for children on the autism spectrum has driven her decision to continue providing services to this population in private practice. In addition to her certification as a general and special education teacher and school psychologist, Glenna is licensed as a  Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington . This unique background of special education, school psychology, and mental health have provided Glenna with the experience and expertise to provide valuable services to those struggling with social learning challenges.

Beginning her journey into the world of excellent methodologies for working with people with autism spectrum disorders, Glenna had extensive training in structured teaching at Division TEACCH, University of North Carolina—Chapel Hill. She then helped to develop a program for students with autism in the Mukilteo School District. As a part of the Autism Outreach Project, she also participated in intensive courses at the University of Washington and the University of Kansas focusing on autism andAsperger's. During the last few years, Glenna has focused on learning about and practicing the methodologies of Social Thinking®.  She has attended many trainings  with Michelle Garcia Winner, including mentor training at the Center for Social Thinking in San Jose, CA. Glenna puts all of this into practice as she works with persons facing social learning challenges.

Over the years, Glenna has been the recipient of several awards related to her work with children with autism spectrum disorders.
